Solodovnik Dmitriy

Actor, Recipient of the Prize of the Russian Federation Government

Dmitriy was born on January 12, 1979. Dmitry graduated from the Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School (course of Y.M. Solomin) and in 1999 joined the company of the Maly State Academic Theatre of Russia.

From the first days of work on the oldest drama stage, Dmitry has actively participated in theatre’s productions. Having a good stage presence, sense of style, balance of the body, subtle understanding of the comic, he always manages to achieve convincingly accurate and naturalistic performances.

In the autumn of 2006 premiered Nikolay Gogol’s «The Government Inspector», staged by Yuri Solomin and Vasiliy Fyodorov, where Dmitriy plays the character of Khlestakov - one of the most interesting and complex roles of the world’s classical repertoire. In 2007 his work was marked by the state award in the field of culture. Today Dmitriy is one of the leading young artists of the Maly Theatre.
