Larisa Lomakina

Larisa Lomakina is a set designer, a costume designer and an architect. She was born on 15 November, 1967 in Moscow.

She graduated from the Department of Residential and Public Buildings of the Moscow Architectural Institute (State Academy) – (MarchI) in 1991. In 1991–1994 she did her post-graduate studies at the Institute. In 1992–1994 Larisa took a course of scenography in Anatoly Vasiliev’s Moscow Theatre School of Dramatic Arts. Lomakina cooperates with a great number of Russian theatres.

Since 1988 Larisa Lomakina has participated in Russian and international exhibitions and competitions.

Laureate of «Golden Section» Moscow architecture festival (2000 and 2002), and «Architecture (Zodchestvo) – 2002» International Festival; winner of a theatre prize of the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper (for the costume design for the Maly Theatre’s production «The Cloak of the Cardinal» (2003); for the set design for the Oleg Tabakov Theatre’s production «The Elder Son» (2009) and the set design for «Lear. A Comedy», «The Event», «Colomba», «The Year I Was Not Born», «Dusty Day», 2012); prizes of the Oleg Tabakov's Non-Profit Charity Fund (2009, 2013).

Since 2002, she has been teaching at the Stage Design Department of the Moscow Art Theatre School.

Designed the set and properties for the following productions performed at the Maly Theatre:

2000 - «Mercadet or the Speculator» by Honoré de Balzac, directed by Vladimir Dragunov

2002 - «The Cloak of the Cardinal» by Pavel Gusev, directed by Vladimir Dragunov

2003 - «The Good Old Band» by Jiri Hubac, directed by Vladislav Konstantinov

2004 - «The Last Sacrifice» by Alexander Ostrovsky, directed by Vladimir Dragunov

2007 – «Dmitry the Pretender and Vasily Shuisky» by Alexander Ostrovsky, directed by Vladimir Dragunov
