Nearest shows:

It is rather hard to catch the fleeting happiness, especially in times of change... The beginning of the XX century was a period of efflorescence in science and art and at the same time the precursor of the great disaster.

In «The Children of the Sun» Maxim Gorky addresses the internal tensions that wracked bourgeois Russian society during the turbulent years leading up to the Bolshevik Revolution. The writer brings up the eternal themes of love, loneliness, alienation and hope, taking place against the backdrop of disturbing times.
