Milyuzina Lidiya

Actress

Lidiya Milyuzina was born on July 29, 1986 in the city of Urzhum. In 2003, she entered the Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School (course of O.N. Solomina and Y.M. Solomin, among her teachers were V.I. Bochkaryov, A.S. Potapov, V.N.Dragunov, V.E.Fyodorov) and joined the Maly Theatre’s company. Among the roles performed in theatre school were: Alka (F.Abramov's «Alka»), Lyudmila («Late Love» by A.Ostrovsky), Mary Stuart («Mary Stuart» by F. Schiller). Her role in the graduation play was Elena in the «Vanyushin’s Children» by Sergei Naidenov.

Lidiya performed for the first time on stage of the Maly Theatre, when she was a second-year student, playing Gerda in «The Snow Queen» by Evgeny Schwartz. The charming young actress will repeatedly play central roles in performances for young viewers - in 2009 she will land the role of the Musician’s Bride in «Smart Things» by S.Ya.Marshak, in 2014 she will play of the most famous and recognizable princesses in the world - Cinderella.

In 2007, after graduating from Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School, Milyuzina joined the Maly Theatre’s company. In the same year, she played Anyutka («The Power of Darkness» by Leo Tolstoy) - a joyful little girl who witnesses the cruelty of the closed ones. Lidiya nailed such a complex and emotionally-saturated role. Characters portrayed by Milyuzina during the first years of work in the theatre were gentle, kind-hearted, cheerful, loving, ready to open up to trust and happiness. They were likeable within the first minutes of appearing on stage. Soon, however, Lidiya managed to shatter her typecasting image, playing completely different and diverse characters, among which are selfish Armande Béjart in Mikhail Bulgakov’s «The Life and Love of Monsieur de Molière, or The Cabal of Hypocrites», then emotionally deaf Anya («The Dream of the Heroine» by by Aleksandr Galin), etc. In 2014, Lida played one of the most famous impostors, a pretender to the Russian throne, Elizaveta Tarakanova («The Theatre of the Empress» by Edvard Radzinsky). Vera Filippovna («The Heart is Not a Stone») and Lyudmila («Late Love»), played by Milyuzina, both are being torn between love and duty. In her characters there is a certain understatement, which encourages viewers to pause and reflect what would they do facing the same issues?

In 2008, the actress made her cinema debut in Karen Shakhnazarov's film «The Vanished Empire» that was later followed by works in: «The Reserve of Fear», «Searching for You», as well as the series «Always Say Always» -5, 6, «Kamenskaya» -6, «Once Upon a Time in Rostov» (directed by Khudyakov), «Goryunov» , «Ordinary Myrtle» (main role, directed by Alexander Khvan), «The Shot», «Freud's Method» -2, «Private Detective Tatiana Ivanova».
