Honored Artist of Russia, member of the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation, member of the Moscow Union of Artists, winner of the All-Russian Festival of Dramatic Art of the Peoples of the RSFSR, laureate of the Golden Mask Award, winner of 3 golden diplomas for best scenography of the International Theatre Festival «Zolotoy Vityaz».

Viktor graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography (LGITMiK). Works in different genres of art: theatre and concert scenography, easel painting, graphics, cinema. He executed works for over 200 opera, ballet and drama performances in many cities of Russia, as well as in Moscow theatres, including the Novaya Opera, the Theatre on Pokrovka, Ballet Moscow, the Estrada Theatre, Moscow, the Theatre of Nations, the Chamber Music Theatre named after B.A. Pokrovsky.

From 2001 to 2017 was the chief designer of the Moscow Theatre «New Opera». He was the designer for «Demon» that was given a special diploma of the Moscow Opera Festival on the occasion of the quadricentennial of the opera in the “Best Opera Production Designer” category (2000). In 2011 Gerasimenko staged, as a director, set designer and costume designer, the opera «Cinderella» by J. Rossini. In 2011, Mr. Gerasimenko was honored with the Moscow City Prize in the field of literature and art in the Fine Arts category for his highly artistic design for the productions of Puccini’s «Gianni Schicchi» and Tchaikovsky’s «Iolanta».

The works of Viktor Gerasimenko (paintings, graphics, set models, costume sketches) are on display in state art galleries and museums in Moscow, Perm, Izhevsk, and are stored in private collections.
