We are shocked and saddened to report that Georgiy Yuryevich Obolenskiy, Honoured Artist of Russia, passed away peacefully on Monday 21st March. He was the last graduate of the legendary course of Nikolai Aleksandrovich Annenkov.

Obolensky was a naturally gifted artist, distinguished by bright individuality, great sense of humor, brilliant fantasy and artistic taste. He joined the Maly Theatre company in 1963 and has devoted himself to the service of art for more than half a century of art, having played a total of 83 roles.
